After graduation in 1968, Greg joined the Navy, serving 6 years, sitting out 2, then re-enlisting. He married Marilyn and has one son.  On May 17, 1987, he was killed in action while serving as a Petty Officer 1st Class, a fireman control man on teh US frigate STARK.  This ship was struck inexplicably by an Iraq missile in the Persian Gulf.  A memorial service was held in Jacksonville, FL, as well as in Paxton.
